Fiscal Management and Administration/Board Treasurer

Dr. Cheryl L. Shain has been in education for over 40 years, focusing on helping high school and college students get the academic support they need to graduate.
During that time, she has taught college courses in Early Childhood Development, worked as a college administrator, and was a public school teacher for 7th and 8th graders. She has successfully designed, implemented and managed student support service programs.

Even though she’s retired, she is a lifelong learner and educator. She continues to work with students and young adults in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Presently, Dr. Shain is busy creating and teaching knitting and crochet craft arts programs for young women in her community. Dr. Shain graduated from Columbia University Teachers College. She is always learning about American urban education, community development, and how to help students and young adults with their academic and social support needs.
